COMPETITION RULES - INK AND ENGINES FEST 2024
Get ready to showcase your talent and creativity!
Our chosen judges will be announced by July 2024, they eagerly waiting to see some amazing tattoos.
Category's will be announced in July 2024!
Remember, you can only enter your tattoo into one category. So make sure you choose the category that best represents your masterpiece.
TATTOOS MUST BE STARTED AND FINISHED AT THE CONVENTION!
Judging begins at 5pm each day.
All small category’s are on Saturday,
large category’s are on Sunday. 
Sizing - 
SMALL = A5 and under 
LARGE = A5 and over  
Here are some important things to keep in mind:
  1. Placement and flow of the tattoo: Think about how the tattoo fits on the body and how it flows with the natural contours.
  2. The concept of the tattoo: Show off your originality and creativity with a unique idea or a creative design mashup.
  3. Clean and consistent linework: Pay attention to the details and make sure your lines are precise and well-executed.
  4. Well-packed blacks or colors: Whether you're using black ink or vibrant colors, make sure they are solid and evenly distributed.
  5. Good blends and smooth gradients: If you're working with gradients, make sure they are smooth and seamlessly blended.
  6. Vibrancy and tone: Whether you prefer bold and bright colors or more subtle and muted tones, make sure your tattoo stands out.
  7. Does it look finished? Ensure that your tattoo looks complete and polished, leaving no room for doubt.
  8. Personal signature: Let your individual style shine through and add your own personal touch to the tattoo.
  9. Time to settle: Give your tattoo enough time to settle before the competition. Avoid last-minute rush and ensure your customer's comfort.
  10. Convention exclusivity: Make sure your tattoo has been started and completed at this convention, unless it falls under the healed category.
  11. Correct category: Double-check that you are entering your piece into the right category, so it gets the recognition it deserves.
  12. Entering: who ever owns the tattoo should complete the entry form (e.g usually this is the client)
  13. The judges' decision is final, and they will evaluate the tattoos anonymously. To ensure fairness, please refrain from wearing anything with a studio name or logo. Failure to adhere to the rules may result in disqualification.
